Stupid girls

The search for a proximity, a closeness to that nothingness that stands between the body and things, within an harmony that is never fixed or definitive, yet capable of embracing the unexpected, the unforeseen, and the unsettling. A body that accepts remaining constantly at the edge of risk, possibility, and failure.

STUPID GIRLS: “Stupid” is anyone who, free of preconceptions, carries experience within as a tabula rasa—without judgment or prejudice. “Stupid girls” is any body willing to enter a relationship stripped of power dynamics, roles, and even the very notion of dominance—a body capable of accepting acts of rupture, shifts in status, and pure relational presence.

How is the body doing? How can a connection be established between being, things, and situation? This is a feminine, vital body, driven by the desire to encounter the other, things, and the world, in order to uncover their relations and become their vehicle. The world is fully reflected in the body’s gaze, and the body’s gaze is entirely outside itself, hosted by the world.

To make the body coincide with existence in an exploratory relationship with the world; to render it matter that offers itself, a surface exposed to the gaze, flesh possessed by vision in which a life manifests itself and an invitation to participate in it. A body that provokes and activates a situation, calling into play the things that surround it, which in turn send back information about the body and its possibilities.

If the situation binds it to a place, that place is also its only opportunity to be close to things; thus it is free not in spite of this situational present, but because of it.

Stupid Girls is a bodily experience that teaches how to feel.
